We have kicked off the dugong population surveys of the urban coast of the Great Barrier Reef, starting from Townsville. So far we have covered areas between Dunk Island (Mission Beach area) down to Bowling Green Bay. Unfortunately, bad weather grounded our team for a week, but it allowed us to review thousands of images collected during the flights! We are now back in the air, so follow us as we head further south for regular updates on how the survey is progressing.
